Texas QB Colt McCoy the man in Denver

DENVER (EDPN) -- After a long and arduous consideration of the rookie QB class in this year's draft, the Denver Broncos have made their choice for the future. Texas QB Colt McCoy beat out Florida QB Tim Tebow in the hearts and minds of the Denver front office. When asked why they chose McCoy, Denver's head coach said "It came down to passing accuracy. McCoy showed in our workouts that he has the skill to get the ball to the right spot." As veteran QB Trent Green leaves town for retirement, McCoy's similar accuracy should allow the team to build on the late season momentum started under Green.

When asked about being selected 17th overall by Denver, McCoy said "I am very pleased to be playing for a proud franchise like Denver. They will have a young and talented team that I believe suits my talents and leadership well. I want to someday be considered one of, if not the best QB in this league. I know I can do that here in Denver." In a moment of humor, McCoy added "So what are the best strip clubs in town? I got to do something with my signing bonus, right?"
